Came to Vancouver, B.C. just before the war broke out ostensibly to start a financial business. Owned property in North Vancouver. Leased his furnished house in Vancouver from 1918-May-01 at $30.00 per month which was forwarded and deposited to his credit. On 1918-Jul-21,asked S. Gintzburger, Consul of Switerzland, to have power of attorney covering his business interests in Canada until peacetime. Described as "a clever and dangerous German of high social standing in his own country". On lists of PoWs "who have shown themselves very bitter and have caused considerable trouble and have been agitators in camp" and "who have been trouble-makers, agitators, and insubordiante". First Class prisoner.
